Cooper celebrates Rosh Hashanah

United Conservative Party Interim Leader Nathan Cooper issued the following statement today in regard to the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the start of the Jewish High Holidays and the New Year:

“On behalf of the United Conservative Party Caucus, I want to take this opportunity to wish our friends in the Jewish community across Alberta a very happy Rosh Hashanah.

“Rosh Hashanah is the celebration of the New Year and the beginning of the Days of Awe.  It not only is a time to look back on the past year, but to also look forward to the hopes and dreams of the year ahead.

“Families and friends will come together in homes and synagogues to celebrate this important day.  It also allows Albertans to reflect on the important contributions that the Jewish community has made to our communities and province for well over one hundred years.

“To all our Jewish friends, I say Shanah Tovah!”
