UCP Critic for Culture & Tourism
Ron Orr was elected to the Alberta Legislature on May 05, 2015 in the constituency of Lacombe – Ponoka.
Ron was born in Calgary and has lived in Lacombe – Ponoka for 13 years. His family settled in Alberta over 100 years ago.
He is married to Donna Marie, an artist at heart, and they have 3 adult children. Ron has a Journeyman Carpenter’s ticket and a Registered Housing Professional certificate. He has owned his own general contracting business, and a cabinet sales dealership.
Ron also has a master’s degree in Theology and reads broadly in economics, political biography, leadership and governance (along with some of its fiction). He has sat on several governance boards and currently serves on the governance boards of an Alberta charitable society and a foundation with an $18 million/yr. budget, along with assets of $73 million.
Ron finds renewal outdoors, often canoeing; and in craftsmanship with wood from timber framing to furniture.
