Wayne Drysdale

 

UCP Critic for Transportation 

Wayne Drysdale is the MLA for Grande Prairie-Wapiti and was elected to his third term on May 5, 2015.

Wayne is the Caucus Whip and the Opposition Critic for the portfolios of Agriculture, Forestry,
Rural Development and Transportation.

During his second term as MLA, Wayne served as Minister of Transportation and Minister of Infrastructure. He has also served as Deputy Whip and as a member of the Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly for Private Bills and Finance. Wayne has been a member of Treasury Board, chaired the Cabinet Policy Committee on Resources and the Environment, and served on the
Cabinet Policy Committee on Public Safety and Services and the Standing Committee for both Public Accounts and Resources and Environment.

Before becoming an MLA, Wayne was a councillor for the Municipal District of Greenview for 15 years and chaired the Agricultural Service Board and the Municipal Planning Commission.

Wayne served with the Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Medical Service as its vice-chair and a founding member. He has also served on the boards of the Community Futures Grande Prairie and Region, Grovedale/South Wapiti Recreation Board, Alberta Milk Producers, Alberta Beef Producers and the Grovedale Volunteer Fire Department.

Wayne and his wife Sherry live on the family farm in the Grande Prairie area. Their daughter and her family also live in the area.
