About this Website
While the NDP government followed the Wildrose Caucus’ call to take a positive first step in publicly disclosing compensation for those working at Alberta’s Agencies Boards and Commissions (ABCs) over a threshold of $125,000, they have made their public database cumbersome to go through with no master list.
When pressed on why a master database was not created, Finance Minister Joe Ceci’s spokesperson stated that creating a master website would be “too expensive and time-consuming”.
In less than 24 hours, the Wildrose Official Opposition has created their own master database, which can be accessed above.
Wildrose Caucus has compiled 2055 names on the public disclosure list, as of 11 am, June 24, 2016. 6 have compensation greater or equal to $500,000, 41 have compensation greater or equal to $300,000, 181 have compensation greater or equal to $200,000 and 948 have compensation greater or equal to $125,000.
Wildrose Caucus believes firmly in the principles of an open and accessible government that is accountable first and foremost to Albertans. We urge the NDP government to follow our lead, and create an updated master database for ABC compensation.
