United Conservatives celebrate Lunar New Year

United Conservative Leader Jason Kenney issued the following statement to celebrate Lunar New Year:

“Xin Nian Kuai Le!

“I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to all those celebrating the Lunar New New Year. On behalf of the United Conservative Caucus, I would like to wish everyone a new year filled with good health, success, and happiness.”

“This Lunar New Year we celebrate the Year of the Dog, a symbol of loyalty and honesty. These qualities contribute to the success of Alberta’s large and growing Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean communities, who continue to make significant contributions to Alberta’s economic, cultural, and social fabric. This is also an opportunity to promote family traditions, children’s education, and filial piety for seniors within our communities.

“For all Albertans, the Lunar New Year provides an opportunity to reflect on tremendous contributions made by Alberta’s Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean communities in all areas of endeavour.

“I know that all Albertans will join me in extending warmest wishes to all celebrating the new year, and hope that the Year of the Dog brings happiness and prosperity to all.”
